What are probiotics?

Probiotics are good bacteria that competes against the bad ones. Once they reach the intestine, they implant in it and start to live there. In that moment the probiotics start to release a series of beneficial molecules that keep your health in optimal conditions.
For this reason it is said that they help to regulate the intestinal flora (gut microbiota). These beneficial molecules are called ¨metabolites¨and they are able to travel throughout the body and give chemical signals to other organs. Therefore, it is also said that intestinal flora participates ¨from a distance¨ in many phisiological processes.
A balanced intestinal microbiota will give your body the right signals for a best pssible functioning, but, can you imagine what would happen if it is unbalanced?
That’s why is important to consume probiotics every day.
Because the current lifestyle promotes losing the balance of the intestinal flora easily (intestinal microbiota). The ultra-processed foods consumption, the use of antibiotics, alcohol, tobacco and even long-term ongoing stress periods are a risk factor for the DISBIOSIS, which is the term that is used when the intestinal flora has been unbalanced.
You should take probiotics for at least 30 days. Some people already feel a good effect from the first weeks, however it depends on each person.
